I have a 1994 F150 Flareside with the 5.0 engine and 5 speed transmission. The only modification to the truck is true duel exhaust (Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers).
I am thinking about installing a performance chip and I've read all the makers' web sites and I like what I see.
My question is: What improvements will I notice in acceleration and gas mileage with my basically stock F150?
Chips tend to knock off about 1/4 - 1/2 second on the 1/4 mile. Not bad. You can expect about 8-12% increase in power (on an older engine I'd say closer to 8). Mileage tends to go up 1-2 mpg but don't use that as the reason to buy the chip because the chip requires premium fuel.
