Welding paper

Welding paper is very expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? I need to weld floor pans and don't want anything hitting the dash and glass. Blankets are heavy.

In the collision industry I have used a mix of cardboard and welding paper. You can use two inch masking tape to seal up the holes and hold everything in place. Cardboard will deflect the sparks and such as long as you are not grinding and shooting your sparks in a concentrated spot just like welding paper.
