06 E350 rear issue

Hi All. I have a 06 E350 with a crappy D60FF that is failing. Can anyone help my with an upgrade or interchange that will work with this truck. I have called all of the junk yards in the area and there is nothing. I don't mind doing some welding if the spring perches or shock mounts need to be moved. I don't mind if the rear is a little wider than stock. Actually I would prefer something a few inches wider. I would like to keep the same 8x6.5 bolt pattern but if not is there an interchange for the front rotors?

Might as well just fix your rear axle when it fails
Rotor swap for what? Then buy brakes for what?
Keep it stock is your best bet IMO

I guess my question would be, What's failing in it? Then I'd price direct replacement parts, or figure out the pricing of re-gear or larger axles.

It's a 32 spline Dana 60. According to the rear end "specialist" I took it to fix they only made that rear a couple of years and according to him parts are unobtanium. He claims that the clutches have chewed up the carrier and it's shot. So that leaves me looking for something that will hold up to carting around 8200 lbs and a heavy foot everyday. Although with the price of diesel my foot is getting less heavy. I was thinking about going back to the stock tune but where is the fun in embarrassing rice burners in a VAN.

Well if you want to rebuild it this is a source you can use.

I sure disagree with unobtanium
Find your own parts at a place like six states or motion industries
Yes vans are alone parts wise (use your tag #)
Rebuild it and tear up again if that's what you do
Dana 60 vans are all; over the scrapyard. Buy two at 300 each for parts or to use
Good luck
