I have a 2001 eb expy. 5.4 4wd 59,000 mi. The battery went bad so I replaced it. now the car cranks but it still won't start. was running fine before. also, the battery was disconected for about a day before the new one was put in. does something need reprogramed?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. the nearest stealership is about 70 miles away (an expensive ride on a flat bed).
this site is a wonderful resource. thanks for your time.
Check your fuel pump fuse (see manual). Also there's probably a trip switch under the dash or in the glove box that will trip and disable the fuel flow in the event of an accident. Try resetting this (again, see manual).
thank you for your reply.
I checked all the fuses under the dash and all the high voltage ones under the hood. all were good. even tried some dry gas in the tank since the day all these problems started was right after our first below freezing night of the season.
any other sugestions on what else I should look for?
I recently had the battery replaced in my '99 Expy and everthing was fine for a couple of days until I encountered what appears to be your same problem. Turns over fine but won't start.
Problem ended up being a "not tight enough" connection at the positive battery terminal. I removed both connections and tightened them myself. Everthing has been fine since.
