I don't take mine out much and it's just an old family truck so just put it on regular insurance when I do for a season or two. Insurance seems to be a whole new world now compared to days gone by. Hit a deer with daily driver, well the deer actually tried to jump me, adjuster came out and checked air pressure in tires and tread depth looked inside. I saw the report, everything A OK. Surprised he didn't ask for the antlers. Total loss, buy back at salvage price. Probably best to go with an agreed value at this time. Think you would have the ability to change value as time goes buy. T boned in my 72 Cougar 351CJ XR7 by someone running a red light. 2 years in court with lawyer and finally found private detective to locate, getting state to pull license. If it means something to you, go with agreed on value, replacement value.
I have all my DD's insured thru one company and the 2 old trucks (77&79) with another company and we have an agreed value. All I had to do what send them some pics and we agreed on a estimated value. And I do not have any storage or mileage (in a garage or a maximum annual amount) requirements.
If you get minimum state requirements (and go with liability only on your rig) and it gets hit, the insurance company will Kelly Blue book it and consider it totaled and then they will take it and give you 500 to 1000 bucks and not even a kiss.
Look at it this way, what would it cost to replace or repair that truck? I bet more than what the insurance company will give you. Shop around, ask around.
Hagerty, Up here in New England I didn't plan to drive it in the winter , and it isnt a daily driver, so I put Antique plates on it and it saved me a ton....
I have my 75 F250 Highboy and a 74 Fiat 124 Spider on an Agreed Value policy attached to my regular home owner's insurance. The truck's policy is set to $25,000 value and the Fiat is at $20,000; the annual premium is surprisingly low, $220 per year for the truck and $206 for the Fiat - $100 deductible and towing within 125 miles.
I bought the truck on 2018 for $12,750, had an accident last June, and just got the truck back from the shop for total repair cost of $27,000. The insurance company could have totaled it, but since the accident was not my fault they gave the Ok to get it fixed - and they will subrogate the other guy's insurance >> and they let me pick the shop - not many shops can or want to do collision work on 47 year old trucks and Fiats.

What company do you have for home owners? I might want to check them out.
The Cincinnati Insurance Company
...still can't believe they let me fix it, they usually start talking total loss at 70% of value and the first damage estimate - from an independent appraiser...because their appraisers don't know classic trucks - was $19,000.
Just to button this up, I've gone with GEICO. Took a while to get it done, but it has liability. Now to deal with the other's insurance if I'm hit. In my mind's eye, if I'm not at fault, the other person has to put my truck back together or get me an equivalent.
