56 glass kit

Where has anyone gotten glass kits and your experience. I would like smoked glass. I talked to a local glass shop about him cutting it ,he could do it but said I would be better off getting a whole kit so it is all the same. Something I had not thought of. He said there is variation in all the vendors so the windshield having to be ordered will be different. I only see MF with whole kits but have not called around yet ,only what I found on the interweb ( PIA). Will maybe make some calls today. Thanks Dean

I bought my glass kit from Mid-fifty. I got the smoked glass also. Very happy with it.

This vendor supplied all the glass used by Chip Foose on his Overhaulin' show. They have a distribution warehouse in Ontario, CA...when I lived in SoCal I would drive up there and pickup my glass and save $$$ on shipping. The glass that I bought was always good quality. As for the glass in a 56, the only glass that isn't flat is the windshield. I have used local glass shops to cut the door/vent/rear window glass at a significant savings...all you need is a template for the pieces you need.
