The p1316 brought me to a buzz test (koeo) where the codes,
p1271 cylinder 1 high to low side open
p1277 cylinder 7 high to low side open
P1273 cylinder 3 high to low side open
So this means injectors then ?
... she only blows smoke when the SES light is ON. The SES is on intermittently and is almost always throwing p1316 when is comes on, sometimes other codes. When there is no light the truck runs pretty much perfectly besides now slight blue smoke at idle.
It could be injectors, given the mileage. Certainly they are tired, and will smoke a little. Maybe rule out the electrical side a bit more first. You could try swapping a coil or injector from a good hole to one of these bad holes. See if the codes move. The SES light/P1316 is telling us you have an IDM, Injector or related wiring issue.
How did the buzz test sound? Any weak or no buzz injectors?
Recommend checking the wiring from the IDM to the affected injector wires for 3 ohms across each coil, while wiggling the wire bundle. Also see if the IDM has water in it, or corrosion. If the wiring check comes up good, have the IDM checked out by Dieseltechchatt.com, or get a spare IDM to swap. If nothing comes of that work, not a bad idea to install a fresh set of injectors.

All of these are passenger side injectors. It points not so much at injectors as the wiring to them. Pull the connector at the UVCH and look for melts or burns. Pull off the valve cover and inspect for loose connector. Google up 50 cent mod and look at the pics of melted connectors etc.
The most important aspect of the buzz test is Listening to the Sound. First all injectors buzz and that is loud. Next each injector buzzes 1 thru 8. They must sound exactly the same! There is a small background buzz of all injectors while the test is running. So any change from normal buzz sound is of note.
The smoke could a few things, but since you have DTC's logged, you should start with those.
Have you tried clearing the DTC's and seeing what comes back after a short drive cycle?
A small amount of oil in the intake tube and CAC system is normal.
Since you have access to an OBDII adapter, but are unfamiliar with what to look at and/or for, check out the links below. Pay special attention to the last one, the Q&A.
Unrelated to the post, we have family in ID from Boise, to Challis and up to Orofino and get out there about once a year. We very much prefer the Challis and Orofino area, but there is no place like home here in north GA.
