Transmission swap...
I have a 2004 ford explorer with 185,000 I bought with a bad transmission, I also had a 2002 explorer with 80,000 miles that my wife wrecked. So I had my mechanic swap the 02 transmission into the 04. After the swap it ran great for about an hour. I stopped at a gas station put it in park and left it running, came out and put it in reverse backed up went into drive and nothing. Now it's like its in neutral in every gear but park. Park does engage when applied reverse feels like it wants to engage but won't, drive and so on just feel like neutral. Mechanic is a GM guy and doesn't specialize in ford's. I know he had issues with the transmission solenoid at first but swapped them and it stopped. Maybe a bad solenoid? Fluid level is ok, he also had a issue with the shift positioner...
Any ideas??? Or anything he could've messed up not knowing better being a GM mechanic?
