Leaky T4
Hey Guys
I have a 79 F150. My T4 started leaking on day when I was on the highway. I went into the 7/11 for something quick came back out and there was gear oil running down the parking lot. It seams to leak only after coming off the highway. I have to possiblities, one the input shaft has a cover that might be leaking, two the casing is cracked, I can't think why it would though. If anyone has similar problems or a solution would be great. I really don't like having to pull that tranny and T-case out. You need at least three guys to do it if you don't have a jack.

I think you have a T-19, if you have a manual four speed, and a cast iron cover. I would check the seals first off, otherwise might want to find a tranny in the junk yard and put it in. A T-18 will work too. The only difference between the two is the T-19 has diagnal cut gears, and the T-18 has straight cut.
