Oil Guage Smokin'

So today I've tried firing up my 1963 F100 here in the UK. Been off the road since last September. New fuel in and battery charged.
AS I'm cranking the starter over I get a puff of smoke from my dash vent and when I look, my oil pressure sender, which was working and showing a good pressure of 60 is now full of oil.
Help a guy out please. What has failed here. Your thoughts guys n gals
I'm no mechanic and probably shouldn't own an old truck but I love it.
Thanks for any assist from either side of the pondMatt

The gage failed and the oil leaked inside of it.
It has a small tube that runs under the hood. You'll have to replace the gage.

I'm guessing that's an aftermarket oil gauge. Here's an original style King Seeley gauge which was electrical.
