Truck value?
I am thinking of selling my 79 F250 4X4 extended cab.
High pinion Dana 60 front, Dana 60 rear 3.54 gear ratio
Rust free bed, mid 90's tub with proper dent bed sides.
Charcoal gray with dark green sides. Race track trim. Nice tail gate.
5.9 Cummins 12 valve engine, NV4500 transmission, NP205 transfer case.
4 year old paint in good condition.
Completely road worthy. I just pulled my camper over 1000 miles, and made another trip hauling my SxS the same distance. 16 MPG average for the trip. 20+ MPG highway unloaded
The bad??
Driver door starting to rust on the bottom front.
Minor damage to passenger side extend cab panel.
Minor oil leaks
in all seriousness, i’ve seen similar builds LOCALY (Arizona) go for $15k to $30k depending on work and vehicle quality. Time invested is also another thing to consider. i would look at the cost of the truck, then cost of parts, engine, accessories, paint, etc, then decide on an hourly rate for your work (varies depending on how you value your time and workmanship) and find a total, all inclusive, price of the build as is. take that and compare it to other similar trucks in the market and adjust price accordingly.
it’s apparently been on the Dana 60 since ‘96 200k.

1978 Ford F-150 Ranger Lariat 4×4
Sold for $40,750 on 4/6/22It may surprise you how quick a Gen-X'er or Millennial might take it off your hands (purchase).
Just before Covid, a buddy finished his '72 Bronco refurb (body-off) and took it to the local Ford Dealer for an alignment.
A young man in 30's approached him and asked what $$$ might he consider to sell it. My friend said $28k will buy it.
The young man and him met at the bank the following week for the money transfer and titling.
Also, there was a '78 standard cab 4x pickup parked in front of a fastener store in 2019 for sale for 18K $$$$, and it was gone in 2-days. It was very clean and presentable and I believe it had race-trac trim, in yellow and metallic brown. Sweet.
If you take some time to Clean and Detail the undercarriage, _ _ the vehicle will sell quicker.
For the higher $$$ value, I would also take the time to pull rear brake drums and clean backing plates and inspect linings and springs and take photos to show a buyer what they are getting which is hidden from the eye. Just a safety thing, which will allow both the buyer and seller to sleep easy at night, knowing what is under the drums.
I use NADA Guides for my estimated values for selling vehicles.
I recently looked up the values on my '61 Ford F100 4x4 flareside pickup. WoW. _ _ glad I'm not purchasing !
