I have a 2016 F-450 Chassis and Cab that has around 30,000 miles on it. Over the past 2-3 months the battery light has come on and off at random times. For example today all day stop and go from one customer to another the light stayed lit. Tomorrow it may not come on. The truck never struggles to start and the battery's tested fine and the Oreilys person said the alternator tested fine (didn't know they could test it in the truck with it running). Curious what your thoughts are that could be the potential problem?
Don’t trust the crappy auto parts store testing. In most cases the issue is the alternator is failing. Do not purchase a reman, do not purchase a parts store unit. Buy a new Motorcraft and move on with life.

Find a YouTube video on how to correctly test an alternator. The intermittent battery light probably means that your bridge rectifier has partially failed.
I'm too old and cranky to mess with rebuilt alternators. I've had way too many "out of box" failures. Buy good parts and do the repair once.
