i just read another post that said the tube from the EGR valve to the exhaust manifold should not be a two piece tube.
well, mine is in two pieces at the ribbed portion of the tube. i assumed it was made this way since it looked cut off and not broke in two. also, i think one fit into the other a little ways?
should this tube be in two pieces???????????????????
i rebuilt this engine because it had an idle problem AND IT STILL HAS THE IDLE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!
HELP HELP HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP
ps what is the ribbed portion (in the middle of the tube) for? seemed to me one part of the ribbed part turned into the other a little ways?????
No, it should be one continuous, sealed pipe. The ribbed section is to allow for flex from thermal expansion and vibration. You're leaking exhaust into the engine compartment, and it may be blowing onto plastic parts that can't take the heat. Replace it.
