So here is the story. A small dealer I have done a lot of work for has a 2021 (production date May 28, 2020) truck camper, Palomina Real Lite RLHS 1806 that he is planning to take to auction. The prior owner used it for six days and has been diagnosed with a serious condition and was forced to sell it. My dealer bought it. He knows what it cost from the Camping World in Asheville, N.C. where it was purchased. I have been through it and it is spotless, looks brand new. I have not tried the appliances, etc. The steps are with it and there is some sort of tie downs, but from the description I am sure they are not Fast Guns. I have no dog in the fight and not a penny involved. I do know it can be bought for a significant savings over new. Again to be clear, I am not selling it nor do I have a stake in it's sale. Dry weight is 2460 and it is pristine. I told him I thought he could do better selling locally. Any thoughts as to value?
I did a quick search to find any for sale and all of the ones I was able to get a value on were 2021 and 2022 models and the asking prices for them (all were new on dealer lots) ranged from about $28,500 to $32,500. I don't know if that is what they are actually selling for but in today's market I would guess that would be pretty close.
Since this one is used, albeit near new, I would think someone should be able to pick it up for around $26,000 assuming it is optioned like the others listed on the web. I don't know much about the Palomino campers to know what the quality is on them.
This one left the lot at $28,900. The shower curtain has never even been hung. The steps still have the new shine, and for someone without tiedowns, they are included. My wife and I actually like the layout better than our laredo because it has a 5 CF fridge. Of course it is wider and heavier than our Northstar, so I am sure it will be over 3,000 pounds ready to go down the road. Looking at it, I couldn't tell it had ever been used. Palominos like all Forest River products do fine if maintained. My only reason to become involved is to see someone interested in camping, but not having the bucks for a Lance, NL, or Arctic Fox get a good deal on like new camper. I think it is worth more than he will get at a dealer option, but he is sure he will make money regardless. I may put it on Facebook just to see if there is any interest. I suspect you are pretty close to what it would take to own it. This is what it looks like
