I have 1970 F250 Explorer edition, with this version of the C6 extension housing (is there a better name for it?) and i'm having a hard time finding a speedometer port plug for it. I recently put a Dakota Digital HDX in with a GPS speedo and would like to get the old cable out of the way. Thanks!
As Ford probably never envisioned not having a speedometer without a cable, you will have to get creative. Check to see if it is a pipe thread to use a pipe plug, or visit an auto parts store for a Dorman plug along with silicone.

I would not go with the threaded plug, too much work and if you or someone else goes back to a cable they could not.
On a project I installed a WC T5 and GPS speedo and just so I could "button it up" to move I used one of them rubber freeze plugs to replace a leaking plug on the motor. Now I know the oil (in this case ATF) will break down the rubber and the plug leak / fall out.
I need to measure the hole size and get a Dorman metal plug.
I would use a little Indian Head gasket sealer not RTV, on it like freeze plugs and drive it in.
I did the same plug deal on a EGR port on my 300 six intake so heating water would not leak into the intake.

Sorry to jump on this thread but does anyone know if the part 17322 in the picture came in different tooth counts. If so was this used to correct the speedometer when using a c6 trans.

Yes. Different tooth count for different rear axle ratios and tire sizes. If you need a different gear, please start your own thread.
