Need a little help with this bolt/washer pair. 1989 F350 7.5l has been in pieces for 15 years, and we're trying to humpty dumpty it back to life. Anyone know what these are, or what they're supposed to fasten? I feel like it's right on the tip of my brain...
Not sure. You have two of them and the same size?
Don't think they all take that type, but they remind me of the occasional idler or tensioner pulley retainer.
Too small to be body mount bolts i would think. Washer the wrong diameter and bolts too short?
Is the truck 2wd or 4wd?
YES. It is an idler pulley bolt/washer. I had seen a few in the junk yards, but they never had this type of washer, or they had no washer, and just the flanged head bolt. Anyway, thank you both very much. One less thing to look for.
My pulley and tensioner for my 91 460 is a Motorcraft part and did not come with that washer, just the bolt. A search shows similar washers that come with other brands for your year. I would think that the washer could be used if there was a belt alignment issue. Mine is fine without a washer.
