fuel pump or regulator
I have a 1989 ford f-250 with a 351, seems when you get past 2000 rpm it wants to cut out and back fire somtimes and will only do it when in gear, will not do it just setting in the yard and run the engine up to 200 rpm. So i put the fuel pressure gauge on an it read 32 psi , so then i left the guage on and went down the road and when you get it to do it, it drops to 18-20 psi. So i unhook the regulator and it goes up to 40 psi, so i took down the road with it unhooked and it still does it. could this be a regulator or a fuel pump, it does not change when you switch tanks so i guess could it be the front pump.
