'92 E4OD Transmission Help Needed

I have a '92 F-150 reg. cab flareside with the electronic 4 speed automatic transmission, what ever the accronymn (E4OD?). I have been noticing that whenever I depress the switch on the end of the gear leaver the "OFF" light illuminates for a few seconds and then starts randomly flashing "on then off". It used to stay on constantly whenever I depressed the switch. I don't know if it is sending a code or if there is an "open" in the circuit that sends power to the indicator light. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When the indicator light begins flashing on the end of you gear selector, that usually indicates that the transmission is having a problem. Is it going into OD when you are driving, or does it stay in DRIVE??

From what I understand, the flashing light indicates a problem with the torq-converter, you might want to have it checked out........
