Swapping frames

I'm toying with the idea of swapping the frame, suspension, running gear, and engine of my 55 F350 flatbed with a newer heavier frame, 4x4 suspension and running gear, and maybe a Diesel engine. So, I would keep my 55 cab and ford script flatbed but just have newer "stuff" underneath.

Any ideas or comments?

Kevin beat me to it..If you find a F350-F450 cab and chassis the frame behind the cab will be straight and 34 inch with. At least up to the 97 model year.

Take a look at the stretch marks thread . That is how much the cab needed to be widened to fit on a newer duromax frame .

And here I was just thinking about thinking about wheelbase. Well, I guess that answers that question.

Track width on the newer trucks are 4 inches wider..You could try finding Big Job fenders to get around the width issue, just a thought..
