Parents finally got thier maverick

Went with my folks to pickup thier 8 month wait maverick.
color in real life is sharp. Broncos next to it makes it look real small.

I like this color and the cactus gray too. I’d like to see these colors added to Ford’s other products.

i spent half a day programing phones and making sure they understood the adaptive cruise and lane keeping//// it wll be great for them

one thing i found cool, is its a hybrid so i turned on truck and could run a/c and all the stuff with the gas engine still off. then about 20 minutes later the gas engine fired up to recharge the battery pack, it ran for about 5 then shut off

i am curious about why no nav system. its a lariat with all the bells.

they really like it
they drove about 160 miles so far (20 something just on battery) and the dte still read 560 to empty.

Did Dealer honor the MSRP? I've been watching some Maverick specific forum discussions and a LOT of preorders are telling horror stories of dealers upcharging despite Ford saying they must honor MSRP on customer orders... and not honoring price protection... and tacking on "cleaning fees" and "Ceramic Coating"... and "VIN etching" etc etc etc that they claim is mandatory... seemingly in an attempt to get preorders to abandon their order so they can sell it at $10k over MSRP to the suckers buying off the lot at those prices.

yup
they honored the as ordered price. its been on order since i think august 2021. dealer did pull fast one and printed a window sticker that was 500 more than what the msrp was when they ordered. i brought this up and finance guy dropped the price back to as ordered price

only thing that pissssed me off was the dealer added window tint for 300 dollars. i raised a stink because trucks windows are tinted pretty dark already
they added front window tint.
i had mine done for 87 dollars lifetime warranty etc. so i complained until they dropped it to 150. because my dad told them yes but he thought it was 150

its rockwall ford and they are under a huge conglomerate and are real shiiiit birds

parents really like it and are happy, so i am happy

parents went to car wash
placed maverick in N and it would not move.. they tried and tried
when they got home, of course i had to solve the issue
seems if hybrid is placed in "N" the brakes hold? and you have to press the "L" on shift **** once in "N" to allow it to roll.
weird but problem solved.

not sure why the hybrid will not roll in "N"

what are the odd of more than one coastie SCPO here?

"So my wife and I want to get a travel trailer next spring. Nothing crazy big, the ones we looked at were 38' and weighed like 9,500lbs."

Uh, I got news for you. If you're talking about a travel trailer, 38' and 9500 pounds is about as big as it gets. Even for a 5th wheel, that's a big trailer. But I doubt you can find a 38' 5th wheel at 9500 pounds. Anyway, be careful wtth your weights. You may end up getting more than the truck can safely handle. It's a great truck, but it does have its limits. Especially when you start putting different wheels and tires on it.

Anyway, wlecome to the forums, congratulations on the new truck, and when you have more questions, come on back. There's lots of knowledge and experience here.
