4x4 Hub function?

4x4 Hub function?
I’m waiting on my F250 and was wondering about the 4x4 hub operation. Can someone quickly explain the settings and how they work? I’m used to manual locking Warn hubs, but these seem to have an automatic function (vacuum) and another setting (locked or unlocked??).

Keep them in "auto" and they will engage when yoy shift into 4x4 with the dash switch. If you leave them "locked" your front axle shafts will spin even in 2x4.
It's mostly for if you lose vacuum to engage your 4x4. You can go and "lock" them in and if the transfer case engages, you'll be in 4x4 even with no vacuum on your front axle.
