Powerstroke in a desert prerunner?

What do you guys think?. Just bought a 1996 F250, SB, Auto, Powerstroke prerunner project that I want to finish. Debating on whether to keep the Powerstroke or swap in a gasser. Truck will be built to run very hard in the desert (in the winter) through woops and jumps. I've searched far and wide for a Powerstroke prerunner and can't find one. Any feedback would be appreciated? Thanks!

I feel like the weight will always be a disadvantage without any offsetting advantages. There's advantages to diesels in long endurance racing where you capitalize on the efficiency to get more laps out of a tank of fuel. Unless you're doing Dakkar or something though I don't see the point. You're going to have to ballast against a heavier nose, you'll need stronger heavier suspension. Diesel is 7lbs per gallon, gas is 6.1. On and on weight will prevent you from being competitve.

You'll be different though.

yes, the nose heavy weight is a concern. Thanks.
