Looking for insight on my 06 6.0. It’s been bulletproofed all the way through and is currently running FFD 155/0 injectors. Had an issue with a copper washer and sent them out to be flow tested repaired and sent back. They’re re installed now and when the truck does the vane sweep at idle it sounds like it has a big cam in it, then goes back to idling smooth. Curious if anyone has any insight, tia!
It’s got now heads, studded, brand new rocker box assembly and cooling system with all new components running cat elc coolant, and it’s egr-less. Running only canned sct tunes and I’m not sure what values to look at, any pointers? It runs amazing, it just idles a little choppy when it does its vane sweep while it’s warmed up. Fuel pressure sets at 60 and the temp deltas are within 7°
What code reader, or monitoring system are you useing? This vgt sweep??
What are your vgt readings at idle? And same when question on takeoff.
icp (Hpop) psi when this bad idle acures, versus when it idles good. Injector pulse width bad versus good.
FICM Voltages M/L/V. What are their readings.
Could go on but that's off top of my head.
Bismic has a check list on copy for this kind of diagnostics. Maybe he'll chime in.
I run the edge cts3 monitor. Vgt at idle is usually 79-85%, ficm runs 47.5-48.5 volts never lower, ipr% 24 at idle, Icp .8/.9 at idle ~600psi how do them sound? I’ll have to drive and update today when I park it and it sweeps the vgt and look at the values again! I appreciate the help so far
They sound like partial answers.
Didn't mean to offend. To diagnose, you need these readings and more at the time of poor idle and when truck runs, as you say perfect.
