Headlights

Last Super Duty I owned was a 2019 model and the stock (non led) headlights sucked.
Has there been any improvement with the 2022 models?

Well, you asked a subjective question so you'll get subjective answers.

I have halogen lights on my truck and I'm happy with them. especially after I swapped the H10 fog light bulbs with brighter amber LEDs. After that simple $25 and 10 minute mod I am happy enough with my halogen headlights that I do not plan to make any further mods. They did change the shape of the headlights between 2019 and 2022 so perhaps there was some improvement but I can't prove that.

In my subjective opinion, I like mine. Hope that offers you some encouragement.

Absolutely is a subjective thing. Although we might not agree on the headlight part of the equation I'm with you on the amber or yellow LED for fogs. I invested about the same as you for Auxito yellow LED fogs on Amazon and I'm very happy with them.

No they are still terrible. I miss my HID’s on my previous truck. Anyone know of any good Projector HID’s for our trucks?

This subject always makes me, I don't know, chuckle, wax nostalgic, I guess.

Everyone who complains about how bad the regular headlights are, must be relatively young.
They should have been driving back when I first started driving, and they didn't even have halogen headlights in cars.

The headlights in my '22 are a hundred times better than the headlights in my first Ford pickup, a 1964 F100.
I think the first car I had that came with halogen headlights was my first '79 Trans Am, I don't think my '78 had them.

There are so many replacement LED bulbs these days, just try that. I've replaced every halogen bulb in my cars, Truck & Harley with LED bulbs. Problem solved. I've only had one ever go bad so far so it works for me.

There’s almost as many bulb options and opinions as there are treads about them.

If 59 is relatively young, then gosh darn it I'm young again! I didn't have halogens when I started driving either. My first vehicle was a 1969 Chevy C10 with no power steering or brakes and 3 on the tree. I do not miss the old sealed beams that I had in the next several vehicles I owned.

I have driven/owned quite a few vehicles with non-halogen bulbs, many sealed beam headlights, etc. Yes, when comparing the standard Halogen headlights on the 2022 super duties, they are vastly better. But I have also driven/owned a few modern Xenon/LED equipped vehicles and in comparison the standard super duty halogen headlights frankly suck. I absolutely had not even considered ordering my 2022 F250 without the LED headlights. It is so subjective a subject and sometimes is as heated as gas vs diesel threads. It also matters your location and where you plan to regularly drive at night. If it is urban interstates and suburbia, the standard halogens are likely adequate. If you are mostly rural locations, LED's make a worthwhile difference.

To the original poster, if you think the 2019 halogen headlights sucked, you are likely not going to be happy with the 2022 halogens and should seek out a 2022 with LED headlights.

At 50, my 1st car was a 67 Mustang with the sealed beam headlights. I remember regularly reminding myself that if something is in the road, I won't see it until it is within 2 feet of the front bumper, and there is no way in hell I can even begin to slow with the non-power assisted 4wheel drum brakes, lol.

I never said I missed the old headlights, just that the current halogen lights in our trucks are so much better that they can hardly be referred to as sucking.
I'm more than satisfied with mine, and hardly ever use my high beams even.

Just to establish my bona fides, yes I have owned and driven multiple vehicles with the dimmer switch on the floorboard. Back then I wish I could have seen better at night also...and that was with younger eyes.

Now, just because the current Super Duty halogens are significantly better than any headlights available 40 years ago doesn't mean they don't TOTALLY SUCK compared to the current offerings from almost any other manufacturer. IMHO of course.

Solid advice. I am 69 and owned approximately 50 new vehicles in my life. The 2019 Super Duty seems to be about the worst of all of them according to my memory as far as the headlights go. I noticed you can no longer get leds with the Lariat trim, bummer

You can get LED's on a Lariat, you just have to also get the ultimate package, then they are optional.
