Hey,

Do you have a way to data log? I used HP tuners.. I was driving around, patting myself on the back on a job well done when the dash went dead, battery light went on... I was like oh here we go.. I messed something up.. But it was all explainable when reviewing this series of logs I'd taken. I was able to see it trending higher and higher in voltage.

Anyways.. it could be electrical and it could be oil related, hard to tell? But if I were a betting man I'd guess it's that HPOP connection to the oil tubs dumping pressure or some o-ring in that vicinity. I bet two Coors lights.

What's up with that fan not being plugged in?

C

fan. I just install the fan dead last before I drive one. Pain in the ***. Don’t need it sitting still. But, I do have it in now and it’s plugged in but I get error on cooling fan 1 not that I’m aware I have a cooling fan 2. Lol

pressure is in the 800s when it dies out in the shop. I would think i would see it drop out on the screen in the shop. I’ll take a look at data logging today.

Does it die even when you are up at speed and take the foot off the throttle, or just down at idle speed?

No, it does not die when you take the foot off the brake at first. It takes a bit and when the rpm’s settle back down, then it dies. Easier to experience coming off highway ramps bc the rpm’s stay higher than in the city where you tend not to be moving as fast between stops and lights. It def doesn’t cut off until rpm’s drop off. I’ll have to reconfirm that later this morning but seems like I got to where I wasn’t concerned about keeping my foot on the pedal til down the end of ramps. I got to where I was constantly watching rpm’s as a gauge of it dying

Really didn’t run the computer yesterday while driving so I know where pressure is while the rpm’s and falling but in the shop it was abrupt cutout from 800ish.

I will see how it goes today, but after I got it out abs warmed it all the way up. It would idle in neutral and stay running. If I put it in gear, forward or reverse, it would die if I didn’t already apply fuel. Rpm’s had to be on the way up when I put the truck in gear or it will die.

Yea, I get it. How about unplugging the pressure sensor near the glow plug controller? Put some air to the high pressure oil system and listen for leaks? Did you go back over all the connectors you touched? Maybe the map sensor hose is shagged?

It's dying during low MAP, throttle position and oil pressure? It could also be fueling I suppose. Maybe the fuel pressure is dropping?

I'm just thinking of easy stuff to eliminate.

Fuel pressure 70psi manual gauge

I need to do a log file and see what changes when. Bit, one needle below 750 rpm’s is when it cuts out. Bang. Every single time

How about replacing the cam and crank sensors with known good ones?

Interesting twist. Idk why the change. But, the somewhere between the shop floor and out driving it for a day. The pcm is reporting the icp desired at 580 psi and the actual fluctuates between 575 and 585 when it will hold an idle.

don’t know why it dropped from the shop floor at 830 ish psi. Perhaps it’s settling in.

Seems like 580 desired is a bit low for what I’ve read from others where the desired idle should be in the vicinity of 750?

Here's a graph. The reference line is 650. So call it 600's. My buddies told me I'm not allowed to say 'datalog' anymore or they'll punch me. hahaha.

I was reading a thread last night and another guy said his icp expected was also 580. So, I’m guessing that’s correct. And mine will bounce between 575 and 585 when it’s not dying on me every 20 seconds.

I just keep driving it. Last night driving home it actually let me idle in gear. Started this morning and idled cold which is unusual. Of course, died when I put it in gear. Actually died when I hit the brake to put it in gear.

shaking out other issues. A bad iat2 sensor. Tiny drip out of the oil filter housing fixed. Let you know if it works it’s way out or I replace the ckp or cmp. Fine to continue the shake down for now.
