Posi clutches

Anyone know if soaking a posi diff in WD-40 would have any adverse effect on the clutches?

Hi and welcome to the web site.

Well since the clutches "live" in an enviroment of 90 weight gear oil I don't think WD-40 would harm them.

Why do you need to soak them? Are you rebuilding a rusty unit?

Don't do it if you havn't already done it. Just clean them by putting some friction modifier on them and rub it with a rag.
