2019 Camera Replacement

My 2019 cameras were terrific from the factory. I read many threads on here saying that the factory camera quality was crap, and I honestly didn't know what people were talking about.

I had the windshield replaced last summer and the front camera "calibrated" after the install. Not sure if this had anything to do with it, but that's about the timeframe I noticed the picture quality diminishing. Now, I can barely see a trailer ball from the rear camera, and the front is equally as poor. I have cleaned with alcohol wipes, and it does nothing.

I have seen threads where people have successfully replaced with aftermarket cameras. Which brands seem to have the best quality? Do they have to be recalibrated?

The "camera" affected by a windshield replacement is completely unrelated to any of the cameras that provide a view on the Sync screen. I have not seen any aftermarket direct replacements for the OEM cameras. Can you link to where you saw this? I have read that a calibration process is required when replacing the cameras, but I'm not sure if it is absolutely necessary. My plan, if I ever need to replace any of the cameras, is to try without calibration. If it works great, if not then I'll deal with it then.

I have a 2019 also and the cameras are almost totally worthless. I don't think having the windshield replaced has anything to do with the cameras on your screen only the advanced driver assistance one behind the mirror. I think the problem with the cameras is that they aren't sealed well and they get moisture in them and get cloudy on the interior of the lens. I could be wrong but that is what it seems like to me. I haven't had a chance to see if they can come apart somehow to clean them yet. Hopefully there is someway to get the lens off and clean it to see if that is the problem.

Well, I searched around and could not find what i referenced. Maybe I dreamed that there was an aftermarket replacement? I guess the only 2 options are deal with it, or replace with OEM?
