Wiring

There's several electrical plugs with seemingly nothing to connect too in my engine bay specifically over the left wheel is this normal truck in question is an 84 F150 xlt with a 2barrel 351w and 4x4

Not seeing the plugs it's hard to say but most would be for optional equipment the truck dose not have.

What type of ignition system do you have? That yellow butt splice is not stock and that plug feeds the wiring to the top of the engine. I see a duraspark module but I am not sure you are using it?

That is a aftermarket wire tap. Did this truck have add-on dealer A/C at one time?

That is a ground strap for the hood. Where is your control cable for the top of the heater box?
