The elusive G701
#46
Well guys this afternoon i had a chance to utilize all of your great suggestions and it went like this.
I got my tools out and realized i was out of coffee. I hopped in ol'blue and headed for the area dinner. Yes dinner small town. Lol. Anyway i looked down and after a couple of months i noticed the gas gauge was 3/4 full?!?!?
Has no rime or reason it just worked. I am pretty sure its a connection along the inside of the frame rail. Looking back in my sometimes defective memory i vaguely remember loosely connecting those wires to the sending unit with full intentions of making it permanent. After taking it for a drive i must have ran out of daylight.
That is my best guess anyway. It's happened more times then i care to remember. Lol.
Thank you all for you're help.

Wow! You’ve got a LONG way to drive to get coffee.
But on the bright side, apparently your truck gets phenomenal gas mileage. Two months of driving and only using a quarter tank.

Hi Karl,
its a few miles to town. But i am getting 11.5 mpg. I drive pretty easy.
Example when ol'blue is cold i shift at 2,500 or a bit below. After its warmed up i shift at 3,000 rpm or a biy below.
Oldman driving as i put it and the fact that i run max air pressure in the tires which is 80 psi in the 285/75R16 E . It is noticeably less rolling resistance.
