You may have recently developed a vacuum leak that's causing the pump to run more often/harder. Could be as simple as a hose drying out and cracking from age. Most of these rigs are legal drinking age now let's not forget.

yes. As well as 4x4 shifting, in some truck, amd other assorted things. Without it, your air is on defrost, all the time.
