simple, The XTRONS 10 inch option fits the Computer portion in the double din slot, while the touchscreen sits out in front of it slightly, it fits perfectly in the excursion, almost like the radio was built for this kind of install, you do have to dremel the lip at the top of the radio opening of the dash bezel like a 1/4 or 1/8 of an inch to make it proper double din dimensions.
Does not block the A/C vents or controls, come right up to them almost like a glove. the 2 blue USB ports are connected to the back of it so i get 2 usable USB ports to plug in phones, flash drives, etc, to load media to the head unit, etc, the third rear usb is connected to my OBDLink EX for torque pro.
Another note, in the pics, mine is sitting closer to the driver because i did that on purpose, and angled it slightly towards the driver just out of personal preference.
You can actually push it back closer to the dash if you choose, Im a 6'5 guy though and sit with the seat all the way back to the track stops, so i brought it out a little bit towards me.
MasterX, do you have a rear screen? If so, can you play a movie with the DVD player and use the screen for nav? Or are they both the same? While parked of course...;-
I dont have a rear screen in mine, had no use for it presently, the head unit has hookups for one however, as far as function, im not sure how it works because i have never hooked up a second screen.
Do you already have a rear screen setup? IF NOT, and you are looking for a rear screen, check these ones out, i bought one but i actually put it in my trailer to use as a PC Terminal, TV, etc... They work great and do not require being tied into the head unit at all, they run android themselves, and are touchscreen, etc.
They have other sizes but i think the 15.6 is the only one with touchscreen, i think the other models require a remote to be used.
You can just get like a 128 GB USB stick, and upload all the media you want and plug it into it, keep the whole collection local on the unit so you don't have to mess with discs, and it has WiFi so you can tether it to a phone or hotspot to stream live from netflix, youtube TV, or whatever you want.
IT also still has HDMI and RCA inputs so you can also plug in other media and game consoles still.
That looks great! I just have trouble with Android and my iphone. I have tried a Carlink kit but I must be doing something wrong as I have yet to make it work
with the Android operating system on my current aftermarket head unit. I cannot get the unit to connect with my personal hotsppot which causes the problem I believe-
.but single din-10 inch-dremel the opening(done that one twice before)
Thanks
You don't have to use carlink, you can just flip on the phones wifi tether, and the head unit has the app store, you can setup anything you like on it app wise, and it also has bluetooth so you can use it for phone calls, speakerphone, or audio streaming from the iphone still if you want.
