Connector Views/Locations
I bought a workshop manual CD off of ebay. Looks like this:
It has useful stuff in it I guess. But I quickly discovered that this does not have electrical schematics, which is what I was really after. So I bought the "wiring diagram" off of ebay. It's a pdf that looks something like this:
Which is A LOT better, but now I need to know where these connectors are located on my truck. None of these documents have this info. They might say something like "behind left dash".. but I'm looking for diagrams of connector locations, connector views and pinouts - that sort of thing.
Something like this (found in some forum somewhere. Maybe here):
...and this:
Any idea where I can find this kind of documentation for my 2001 f250 5.4? I'm willing to pay for it (within reason). What is it called?
Thanks
Section 150 is Connector Faces
Section 151 is Component Location Views
Section 152 is Location Index
The Ford Customer Service publication number is FCS-12254-01, where the "01" suffix stands for model year 2001.
The publication is supplied by Helm Incorporated.
The bootlegged digital copies sold on eBay may or may not be complete. There is no way for anyone here to determine the authenticity or completeness of what you received from eBay.
However, the sections that you are looking for are at the very end of the Ford Wiring Diagrams. The exact Section numbers for a 2001 model year may differ by a number or two. The Section numbers 150, 151, and 152 described above are for the 2000 model year. There were no significant changes in wiring between the 2000 and 2001 model year, however, there were very significant changes in wiring diagrams between the 2001 and 2002 model years.
Try navigating to the end of the second CD you purchased called "wiring diagrams" and see if you already have what you have been looking for all along.
If it turns out that your second CD doesn't have these last sections included, then you can readily obtain them by visiting Helm Inc to buy an authentic copy of the Ford wiring diagrams.
So I just ordered this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144373885105
Seemed like a good deal. I'm pretty dang excited to get to know my new beast better.
I'm still glad I have the e-version. It's convenient to be able to search thru it, but this paper manual will be convenient to have while under the hood. Thanks again!
