help
Helpppppp when trying to replace the rear axle seal in our 94' B2300 we ran into some troubles. first we could not firgue out how to remove the part of the wheel with the lug nut screws sticking out (were you would put the tire) to even get to the axle seal...or does that not come off? and should it have a little play?
we are assuming that this piece does not come off and therefore started taking apart the differential...while trying to do this we ran into more trouble. the screw that holds the spider gear pin is stuck and now rounded off. how in the world can we get this off? and are we doing the correct procedure to even get to the rear axle seal?
thank you very much
the scharnbergs...
You have got your hands full with this one. Sorry I can't help you as I know nothing about that type of rear end. Just want to keep the thread alive so maybe someone else will chime in.
I know that on most 1/2 ton rear axles you have to remove the axle shafts to fix a leaky seal. Usually this involves removing a "C" clip or something simular in the diff.
Good luck,
