Hello! I probably look like a mid-life crisis in the making to those who know my new interests lately (motorcycles and mechanics) but I think it just took me longer to decide I missed out on some fun things because I was a girl who figured I'd always have someone there to do those things for me...luckily my Dad gave me a good baseline growing up and amazingly all that knowledge he taught me stuck and I have been navigating my new projects with such an appreciation for how everything works together and I feel so proud of myself (knowing if my Dad were still here he would be too) that I am not afraid to tackle things myself...my husband cannot even change the oil so he has been a bit stunned at my skills ha...
So what brought me here today is to gain some knowledge on the 1986 Ford F350 Box Truck Project I've taken on...I've been steadily working on this bad boy for a month and I've got it narrowed down to some likely clogged fuel lines and a carb with some clogged jets so I'm going to have to have it cleaned and rebuilt...I've got it started right up strong after it had been sitting for a good 5 plus years, the engine is strong and I have faith in this truck! But if anyone can tell me...where is the fuel filter on this thing? Thanks and take care!
my new interests lately (motorcycles and mechanics)...
Welcome to the forum. Your husband (definitely not a mechanic per your description) must be a very patient and understanding man to have you openly express an interest in mechanics. Or did you mean mechanical things? Quite a difference, so wanted to be clear.
But if anyone can tell me...where is the fuel filter on this thing?
We don't know your carb, but typically these engines had fuel filters screwed into the carb float chamber, & the fuel line from the pump attached directly to the filter.
