New '96 Questons

Just go a '96 F250 with the 5.8 EFI gasoline engine. It had the 5-speed manual tranny and is in pretty good shape.

Just had a few questions about it.

I didn't by it for the mileage but what can I expect?

If you have the 5.8 gasoline engine of around that year, what goodies have you installed to perk it up?

Any gremlins that I should be watching for? It has 70,000 miles on it.

Looking forward to your input!

THERES LOTS OF STUFF AVAILIBLE TO HYPE UP THE 351 FOR THAT YEAR.... OF COURSE YOU CAN START WITH THE EXHAUST GET SOME HEADERS, AND DUAL IT ALL THE WAY OUT TO THE ***, WITH SOME NICE CHROME TIPS. YOU CAN PUT A HIGHER LIFT CAM IN IT (CRANE CAMS MAKES CAMSHAFTS FOR COMPUTER CONTOLLED ENGINES LIKE YOURS) AND MAYBE IF YOU WANT A K&N
AIR FILTER, THERES MORE THINGS YOU CAN GET TO GET MORE OOMPH OUT OF YOU 351 (LOOK IN JEGS OR SUMMIT, THEY SELL THAT KIND OF STUFF)

AT 70,000 MILES ID BE LOOKING AT GIVING IT A TUNE UP YOU KNOW PLUGS, WIRES, DISTRIBUTOR CAP,ROTOR BUTTON, PCV VALVE, AIR FILTER, FUEL FILTER, ETC.

OIL CHANGE PERHAPS, FRONT END ALIGNMENT, GREASE UP ANY JOINTS ON DRIVE SHAFT, STEERING, WHEEL BEARINGS, DEPENDING IF THE TIRES ARE BAD, GET NEW ONES.

THATS MY INPUT, HOPE IT HELPS YOU.
