In the process of restoring my 79 F250 SC 4x4, have stripped down the frame to take and get sandblasted and powder coated. I found the serial number on the RH top frame rail where the transmission cross member bolts on, was just wondering if there was another one on the LH side of the frame?
No there is not, BOTH stamped vin numbers (that should match the paper title number) are on the passenger side. Look in front of the passenger side fwd cab mount. Since you found the one under the passenger side fwd seat slider bolt area (on top of the frame) you are doing good. And both those numbers should match the Warranty plate that is riveted to the dvrs side door edge that has the # and match the vin # on the Safety Certification sticker on the B pillar.

Thank you for the info, used the wire wheel and found the back serial number. Everything matches the truck and had purchased a Marti report on the truck with a new Safety Certificate sticker as the old one will be toast when I go to repaint everything. Kevin Marti did a great job on a new one, they wanted a picture of my original first.
