So I am able to order a new superduty and take advantage of the X plan. Not too many dealers will except this plan right now but I did find one, will have to order it. Does this seem like a good deal?
One is for standard cc 4x4 sb XLT with 6.2 4:30 gears 6 speed trans....the other is at 7.3 10 speed tranny thoughts? Either build is a looooooooong wait right now.
From my understanding, most dealers are quoting MSRP for ordered vehicles. Any price lower than that, and you are coming out ahead. I have two Ford dealers in my entire state and the second one is 300 miles away. Since I could get xplan locally, I feel like I'm getting a decent deal regardless of whether or not I manage to get a coveted ECR at time of delivery.
X-plan pricing is a great deal right now if you can find a dealer that will take it.
Which one you choose really depends what you use the truck for. If you do any towing the 7.3 and 10 speed is a vast improvement over the 6.2. I also suspect the 7.3/10 will hold more value for resale.

Wow, 2 dealers in the entire State? I have 43 dealers within 100 miles of my zip code. Only 2 of the 10 that I called would order with x-plan.

Yeah, we don't have a lot of choice in Alaska. Luckily, I have a good relationship with our local dealer and they didn't bat an eye at my xplan order.
Back to the OP's post, I'd give serious thought to the 7.3. For not much more coin, you get a darn capable platform along with similar economics of the 6.2.

I'm on my second 7.3/10 speed after having four 6.2/6 speeds. All I'll say is that I'm not looking backward to a 6.2 screaming in the hills. Maybe the 6.2 better with the available 10 speed, those were not an option when I had 6.2 trucks.
My experience with the 7.3 is more power and actually slightly better mileage with both 3.55 and 3.73 trucks.
My dealer here in NC accepted my X Plan back in November with my $2000 PCO. When I picked up my truck Monday my salesman said they no longer accept x plan and are now adding $2000 to MSRP! I got my F350 just in time.
Im in so cal and the dealers here will not take x plan, fortunately for me we own a second home in AZ and I called the Ford dealer in town and they
will except it.
I'd go with the 7.3. My 2022 F250 work truck has the 6.2 and it lacks get-up-and-go. I'm normally towing a 7k enclosed trailer and get around 8 mpg. Most driving is done at 4500' elevation and up.
If MSRP on a loaded diesel Platinum F350 is $85000 what would invoice pricing be? Right now on Ford’s build and price there is no place to add in the sun roof or fifth wheel prep package. Are those options being automatically selected on Platinum trim levels or are they not available?
