Wish Ford would add in the ability to choose eco as the default drive mode, and also have the option to have the truck auto switch to tow/haul when a 7 wire trailer is plugged in.
Only about 50 miles on the 2022 Lariat F-350 7.3 but Eco Mode acts different than it did in the 2020 F-350 7.3. Be awhile before I can tell if there is any difference in MPG.
I think Eco is a benefit with continuous use in day to day conditions. It seems like it short shifts and takes a little reaction out of the throttle pedal. But I bet that a pure long distance road trip it would make no difference. I use it a lot. I do get tired of having to constantly tell it to retain Eco mode.
Ford can't win. If you automatically enabled tow/haul with the 7 pin, then people would complain about that.
With todays gas prices around here I would save $6.85 using N instead of T/H mode per tank, $11.20 per tank using Eco instead of N, $18.27 per tank, using Eco instead of T/H...

Reason: add some extra thoughts
Eco mode on a 3 hour trip through the external part of NC. Flat 2 lane driving for the most part. I was very impressed with the mileage. It's better than my 06 F150 4x4 crew with a 5.4.
2022 F250 CCSB 4x4 with 7.3 and 3.55. Empty run for 137 miles. Best mileage noted on the trip was 19.2.

I have the same configuration, so that’s encouraging. I’d be thrilled with 15 MPG that is a bit of a mix between town and highway.

Took out the 1,200Lbs and did the same trip again today...
For those posting pics of the in dash MPG, have y'all hand calculated it to make sure they are correct? My driving is mostly stop and go in the city, and regens about every other tank, so I haven't came up with much of anything consistent, however, the trucks average has never matched the hand calculated average, which I do every time I fill up. The truck always displayed more than what I came up with... I also came across a thread recently pointing out how to change the AFE setting on the truck to try and get the trucks readout to read more correctly. I have made small adjustments to it the last 3 times I have filled up, however, I doubt it will ever be correct.

I had to change mine from the 1,000 down to 930 to get it to read "right", to show the same as the "actual" measured/calculated amount from the fill ups...

After doing the recommended math I changed mine to 922. Then it read low, so I bumped it up to 927 and it still read low so the last time I filled up I went to 935. So we’ll see. I figure with the inconsistent driving it will never read correctly… especially when I start towing more!
