Diesel today in the San Diego area 6.69. Regular 5.49.
Have a truck ordered at Chatham's, (11/23/21), if it ever comes in I figure the price of the return has gone up about 300 dollars. Well for now anyway, could be twice that in a few months. But might be able to get a better deal on a new camper though.
I bought Diesel yesterday in San Diego and paid $5.30 per gallon. Corner of Clairemont Mesa Blvd and Genessee Ave.
Two weeks ago I was paying $4.60 per gallon.
Just did a quick run to Borrego for 4 days and burned 1/2 tank.
Having a 48g tank is good and bad.
Better than filling my old boat to go chase tuna it held 249g.
Gotta look for the positive. Not gonna get better for awhile I think.

El Cajon Chevron and Dion and Sons inc, a major refueling stop for Big rigs in the Lakeside area.
At the 302? ; )
Just checked my book. On 02-22-22 I bought diesel at 3.899.
Last night, fuel at the Station was 4.999. Fuel at the station Friday was 4.359, by Monday it was 4.699 Tuesday morning the same. Around noon / 1300 it was 4.899. By the time I got back there at 2015 it was 4.999.
Didn't have to go to town today so I have not eyeballed the sign and no one has updated Gas Buddy in 6 hrs, but it still shows the 4.999.
We are going to Detroit Lake (Oregon @ 80/85 miles 1 way) for five days the end of March, 1rst of Apri. An additional 2 of 3 trips we were planning to that destination in April and May have been cancelled and we are debating on the 3rd, but right now I'm thinking we will change that to someplace a little closer to home. We have some trip plans for June to Eastern Oregon and we will do that. Then the end of June we will make the first of 2 trips down to Diamond Lake coming home the middle of July.
We were going to drop off the boat, change out some of the camping gear and head out on a long trip covering Idaho to the area of Dickinson North Dakota, but we have decided to cancel that. So from Mid July to Labor Day we will be at home or someplace close by. Being at the foot of Coast Range Mountains and really close to the Cascades, we have a lot of options that are within a single tank of diesel.
I was curious about the campground occupancy rate so I checked a couple of State and a Federal Campgrounds I'm pretty familiar with earlier today. The Fed / USFS primitive camp reservations look pretty much the same as it did in mid January. This USFS campground (there are actually 3 of them), are closed for the winter through mid June when most of the snow has melted off. They keep one loop open in the East campground, but will close it if they can't keep up with the snow build up. So people may think there is no rush yet and still sitting on their reservations waiting to see what the fuel prices do.
The State campground we are going to in a couple of weeks looks like the "premier" or "premium" most sought after lake fronts are still pretty well filled up. But some of the sites "up the hill" have opened up - (cancellations?) - since I last looked.
Diesel went from $3.99 to $4.99 here in one day. It is a good thing that most of my offgrid camping is within 30 miles. I will be trying to draft any tractor trailers on the road
We camped at Jonathan Dickinson near Jupiter, Florida last night. Campground was completely filled. One of our favorites with very large mostly private sites. Filled up this morning for $4.39, but some stations were at $4.89! I expect higher still by the time we get to St. Augustine this afternoon.
Just checked the station I've been using as a "bell weather" 17 miles down the road, (my little berg doesn't have a gas sta at present). It is still at 5.09 for diesel. The only good thing I see about that is that it has held steady for 3 days now.
Our favorite local Shell station has been “parked” at $3.999/gal for the last week.
Safe travels,
Jim / crewzer
Wow! Such a variance to prices. Seems almost criminal with some of the higher prices. A recent update at our 'bell weather' shows the price is still at $5.09 as of an hour ago.
$3.99 is high but much better than here. My shell card gets me 10¢ p/gal off.
Maryland is removing the gas/diesel tax which would be nice since that will eliminate .37 cents a gallon.
Governor Larry Hogan and state legislators agreed to pause the state’s gas tax for the next month in an effort to help working class families hit hard by rising gas prices. Maryland state House Speaker Adrienne Jones and Maryland state Senate President Bill Ferguson worked with the Office of Governor Hogan to halt the gas tax.
Commie Kate, (our governor) shot down a proposal to suspend Oregon's gas tax. Second time our democratic controlled state government has rebuffed that proposal. Legislators proposed that the first of the month before they adjourned. The Democrat controlled committees refused to even allow it to have a hearing.
Our Chevron 'bell weather' station is holding at $5.09 for diesel (as of 26 minutes ago) so that's 4 full days now. If it's going to change now, it will be in the morning.
