front end all wheel drive

when my front end is off the ground, and i turn the wheels by hand, should the front axels turn? 91 e4wd.

The front differential on the AWD Aerostars are open, so it's possible to turn one wheel and expect to see the other wheel turn the other way while the front drive shaft stays still.
