18" degree wheel recommendations

Hello All,
I am in the market for a 18" degree wheel that is going to be used on a 300 inline six build.
So I am looking for people who have found one that works well and they would recommend.
I know a good one isn't cheap so I thought I would get everyones opinion to see what you use and why you like it. Thanks in advance, Jon

I don't think you will need a ring as big as 18". I use a smaller one fitted to the hub of an old damper. Works fine. Of equal importance is a securely mounted pointer that has a definite point on it and stays put.

Hi The Frenchtown Flyer,
I was wondering if the 18" mite be excessive but figured since I have a big block and 3 inline six engines if I found the best with the hubs connections for all It might pass as the only one needed in my tool box.
I thought the larger the more accurate it might be.
You are in my eyes aswell as a great many others a the inline six master so I will learn.
Why did you put wood behind it as pictured in the last photo? Just curious.

Thanks bullnose.
The degree wheel - Ford Engineering issued - is just a flat plate so I affixed it to a piece of 1/4 plywood to make it a little easier to mount precisely to a hub. They are used by engineering in several applications where precise measurement of an arc is important. I had to bore the center hole and drill the three mounting places.
By all means if you have several engines to work on a big professional wheel would make a nice tool addition to your tool box.

your very welcome thank you for helping so many people. You may not hear it much but we all appreciate your time and knowledge.
I have a few vices in my life. Tools, women and whiskey. Women are unpredictable, whiskey is soon gone but tools are the vice that lasts and I have spent the most on. Have never regretted spending more then a quarter of my funds on tools. I am kinda of addicted. Never been sorry or never had too many tools.
Hope you and your family have a great weekend.
