I just got a flyer in the mail fo r a 2 day liquidation sale of tools. Sale is going to take place this weekend at the Dunsford Community Centre. They advertise very low prices BUT they don;t advertise who they are. The flyer only identifys them as LIQUIDATION DEPOT- ONTARIO WHOLESALE DIVISION , no address phone number Ont Inc Number- nothing. They have engine stands for $39-$59. a 2.5hp 6 gal.compressor for $159, and a large assortment of auto related tools. My guess is that this is flimsy off shore garbage but...... its affordable. Anyone heard of this outfit?
I went to one in Oshawa back in April??? May??? same people LIQUIDATION DEPOT ONTARIO WHOLESALE DIVISION I was just real selective about my purchases "if it looked like junk it was junk" But some of the stuff was pretty good I picked up 4 small axle stands for the cars, "it was gettin silly putting the car 4 ft off the ground with my truck stands" they were 10 bucks a pair and well built. I also picked up some small ratchet straps for the sled trailer, bulk auto fuses and zip ties. 1, 2 and 3 foot 1/2 ratchet extensions, a beast of a Jackall 5 foot and real sturdy, Wise tin snips left, right, straight, and a whole slew of other cool handy stuff. All for well below what I'd of paid anywhere else.
Just steer clear of the crap "it's easily identified" stuff like their power tools, pretty cheesy remanufactured low end no name stuff.
Go to Princess Auto! Awesome place, absolutly HUGE, great prices, and "No sale is final until you are satisfied!" They will be around for a while, so you know you can return it if it is junk!
I'm not aloud to go to into Princess Auto without spousal supervision. I stopped in last Friday to pick up a couple of gifts, I walked out spending more on myself
For all you sledders
The sled saddle bags Princess Auto has on sale for $24 are great, I also bought 4 of their sled covers $9.99 each they don't fit all that great but for $9.99 they make good spares or over covers when trailering in salty slushy conditions.
When you see a company like the liquidator's think Low grade metal from Taiwan or Korea.
Some stuff I have found, is just fine.
Like $20.00 for 16 piece 3/4" drive socket set isn't bad unless you would be using it everyday.
For the backyard mechanic imost of the stuff is usable.
