Ok, so I have a 72 f250 4x4 chassis and the body from a 71' f250 2wd, manual trans, camper special which Ill be swapping onto it. The 71' has a really nice interior and I was hoping to keep all of that, but I think I've run into a problem with the steering column. I've read everything I could find and from what I understood was that with both steering columns being a manual floor shift that I could just trade the shafts and it would work. Everything is the same and working out besides the lower bearing. The 71' has the larger older style of bearing and metal bushing and the 72' has the smaller bearing with the rubber around it. The smaller one doesn't fit into the lower bearing flange and the lower bearing from the camper special was shot when I took it out. I have some other bearings I had saved from previous column rebuilds but they don't seem to fit either as they are just smaller. The column with the black end is the 71' camper special. Any ideas, advise, or just to say that I'm doing it wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
