I was wondering how to rais it up a few inches with very minimal cost. I notice my rubber body spacers are worn down and crushed. could i replace those to gain an inch or two. I would prefer not to do a body lift because that just looks terirble. having the tailgate liek 5-6 inches off the bumper. How could i increase the hight about 4-5 inches overall for very cheap?
thanks
by the way i want it cheap because im only 15 and i have a crappy low paying job.
Keep a look out at the boneyards. I ran across a 4" Rancho waitin to be pulled a few months ago. Or wait until you get a better job or a second job.
Good Luck.
i have a rancho 4" that i pulled off my 82 f-150 i have coils blocks u-bolts some good sized spacers for rear leafs and a pitman arm only thing you will need to add is 4" drop axle pivot brackets and 4" drop radius arm brackets. because the moron that bought the lift and put it on the truck didt get all of his parts so he grabbed some steel and a welder and well use your imagination on the rest. lets just say it took me a month to tear off and clean up the mess he left. as well there are 2 rear rancho i believe es3000 shocks. that come with it not the front ones though i put them on my other truck. the lift is around 2 years old if that. so its still in pretty good condition.. i my self would recommend new or diff rear lift blocks due to rancho's blocks are aluminum. and for me they are just not strong enough. but if it sounds like somethin your interested in drop a line on the page or email me and well talk out a cheap price.
Yeah
that sounds good
first things first do you knwo of anygood pages i can learn about lifts. because im not quite sure what you do for suspention lifts. is it true that independant front suspentions have problems or are harder to lift for some reson. Im goin to have to find more out about lifts and all the parts i need before i go diving into this mess.
ohh not to forget that i only have a 2wd but i want some extra hight cause it seems just a little low. replacing the body mount spacers would help and i think is really cheap. i was thinking about using the hockey puck lift, GHETTO!! to gain an inch on the body.
I am also planning on adding some shorty headers once i get my license. For now im going to just buy a new manifold just to get it working. someone told me that my 302 is actually producing 302Hp this dosent seem rigth because i have read it produces 250 hp. which one is right id rather have the 302Hp but i need to knwo what number i have to add on too ad i make my performance modds.
thanks for anyhelp
If you get like a 3" body lift, that will replace the cab/body mounts. As far as it looking "ghetto" by having the space with the bumpers. I bought a bumper relocation kit with mine, that raised the bumpers to look 100% stock, and they're just as sturdy as they were at stock. I thought with mine if I put the kit on that you would be able to see the frame from the back of the truck b/c the bumper was raised the extra inches, but you can't, and it really looks good, and ya can't beat $80.
As far as a chassis lift, you probably won't find one for the 2wd models..the only once I could find were from fabtech and rancho, which were high as hell, and only for like 97+ models.
Good luck man. I've seen people do the hockey puck thing, and pull it off, but you're still gonna get the small gap. If you want it right, you may wanna get some polyurethane bushings.
My 4x4 was sagging REAL bad before I put my chassis lift on. Within like 2 years of daily driving, the front of the truck was almost running the tires.
i think mostly the reason my truck is so low is that the damn suspension is just saging like you said. I looked at my front bumper and i noticed i can rasie it about 2 or 3 inches woithout a kit. one of the guys at work has a 2 inch body lift and after 5 years the body is starting to sag, whats with that crap. i might do a body lift soon as well as get new leaf spings and coils for the front along with new shocks.
thanks man
**** that was messed up im missunderstood that. he said the 302 had 185 stock horsepower. i think he is full of **** i checked my manual and it said that the 302 v8 has 250hp and the i6 300ci had 150 HP what the hell is goign on i want to knwo what i am runnin as in horsepower. this is so confusing.
HELP
please help me!!!!!!!!! i cant get this bolt off no matter what i do. its the bolt for my exaust manifold. their are engin lift mounts bolted to the manifold and the bolt that holds that mount on is compleatly stripped. should i jut cut off that nut and then try to get the manifold off with the other bolt that is left on their? what should i do please help me???
PB BLASTER and a pair of vise grips. might need a hammer to move it once the grips are on, leverage problem in tight spaces ya know...
anhoo, it has worked for me!
throw those plates away when done, they are garbage! get an intake manifold lift plate from summit for EFI fords....way nice to use than chains and those crappy brackets that bend to hail!!!!
im thinki of just dotchin these all together they are ****. i got it off i used my dremel to grind the nut down so i could pound on a smaller socket. it actually worked suprisingly. so now all i have to do is gewt the new manifold. i ordered 3 summit mags for free and they will be arriving wihtin 7 days. i have bond and **** all over my hads right now. LOL tring to fix all kinds of rust issues im having this sucks ***.. i will post the pics of my cracked manifold on http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/443162 i have pics but i need to ge them developed. any aides on how to stop rust perminatly besides removing the rusted area.
something like a rust blocked thta i can then cover with bondo and not wory about rust coming througth the bondo cause thats the problem i have now.
another question what the hell is the coffe can looking can thing on the left wheel well while lookign at the engine.
homoudont the coffe can looking thing is probly your carbon canister.....you know another lovely part of emissions crap.....84 bronco yea it should fit your bronco i believe the year range is 80-96 and could go for f-100's f-150's and bronco's
