Interchanging
Hey there enthusiasts! Is there anyone out there that knows if I can interchange a 1982 F 150 4x4 to a 1978 F250 4x4? I’m talking about the cab,motor mounts, radiator, hubs, wiring harnesses, dash, headlights, tranny, gear shifters. Smog,steering wheel and column, basically the whole front end. If not is there a year of Bronco that would interchange with the 1978 F250 4x4? ANY help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! Thanks 😝

1973-1979 will be your best bet to swap with a ‘78. Anything before or after will take more work than it’s probably worth.
What’s the goal for swapping?
EDIT: Just realized this is about Broncos. Only a ‘78/‘79 bronco cab will work nicely. A front clip from any dentside (1973-1979) ford truck will work.

Some jackass caught my 78 on fire burnt everything to the bed. Wasn’t enuf gas to keep going but it’s a 3/4 ton and it’s granny geared and I need it to tow my triple axle trailer back east. Thanks so much for your help!😍

I second making your life easier by sticking to 73-79 truck or 78-78 Bronco. Sounds like you are trying to the save the engine, transmission and maybe frame? I would think it would be easier to buy something in good condition that has the wiring harness, suspension, and axles, then drop in the engine and transmission. Could actually be pretty cheap ($500-$2000) if you are buying something with low rust but no drivetrain.
