I have a 1977 Ford f100 351W. I have not bought the Accel
dictributor which has two wires connecting to the ignition. The stock replacement that is in the truck has three wires but only two
are used in the accel diagram. The tech at Accel did not know what the third wire was for,it's a black wire. The other 2 wires are are attached to the ignition. the truck does not start with this wiring diagram. I am looking for a diagram that covers the stock replacement distributor. Thankyou for your responce.
Jimmy, the third black wire is a ground wire for the ignition module. You can run a jumper wire (or splice) from the harness plug to a nearby screw on the distributor or engine block.
The two wires from the distributor connect to the other two wires on the plug (orange and purple I think). They are connections for the distributor pick-up coil.
