2022 glovebox

Did Ford really delete the light in the glovebox on the 2022?

By all accounts, yes they did. My hypothesis is that it was a weight savings to increase payload.

That is crazy. My 2021 F-150 was nearly $60k and Ford is nickel and diming over a glovebox light.

I'd never buy a GM.

Yes and they deleted the cup holder ambient lighting, too.

Probably one less super chip that is needed.

Yes. There were several changes due to the cup shortage. Need lighting is now an option. Not standard. The climate control is now on the radio rather than in the dials. I believe the door above the glove box is gone now too and that can't be blamed on a chip. As far as the glove box I didn't even know mine was lighted in my 21. That glove box is the most pathetic glove box I've ever owned. Might hold a pair of small gloves. My 86 fox body has more glove box and that's saying something. Fortunately the center console on the 21 is cavernous.

GM... I wouldn't be against it. I have several customers in my shop with 2021-22 Chevy 2500/35. If I were buying a 3/4 ton or heavier I'd buy the Chevy.

And I'm a Ford man with 7 Ford vehicles currently tagged including a 21 f150 and a Super duty. One jeep and one Toyota. Not one GM. IMO Ford just has too many stupid issues now. . And don't care for their customers. Use them for beta testers and then don't fix issues (iwe/ blown out plugs etc) for several years. Promise features they don't provide etc etc. They all do but Ford seems too be worse .

Last years reliability surveys have Ford UNDER Mopar. Down with range rover and Jaguar . We always fall below GM but damn. MOPAR..... LOL

The upper glove box lost its door on XLT and below, I believe. My 22 Lariat has it.

Ah. I knew i read that it was gone. The only thing I'd actually care to complain about is the temp in the dials. That just looks better than the plain 22 dials. I really couldn't care less about the glove box light. So long as the center console light is still there.

Id also pay for the bed lighting if I were going to use a tonneau cover. It's very handy. My cup holder lighting and such, I wouldn't miss.

My 2022 XLT (302A) still has the door on the upper glove box.

Cool. So maybe XL/STX lost it?

I read elsewhere that just the XL and its higher trim STX are what lost the upper glovebox cover...
