Differential Identification

A local fellow is posting a nine inch differential for sale and I finally got him to give me the tag number. It's 4001 K 10 1E and out of a 62 F100 he says. Can you guys confirm that it's a 4.10-1 gear ratio, and that it will bolt in to my 65 nine inch housing?
I think the 410 would work better with the overdrive five speed and 31" tires on my rig. Thanks in advance.

I hate to say it but the tag means nothing really. Did he send any photos of the housing or 3rd member?

AFAIK any 9 inch 3rd member will fit any 9 inch housing so long as the axle shafts are the same spline count.

And yeah going from 3.50 to 4.10 will act like a whole different truck!!
