So after several hours of recording and trying to catch it on video I was finally able to capturethe air circulation button turning off on its own. This only seems to happen when the system is in heat mode.
this is not normal is it?
And to add, this is a safety thing to keep humidity levels from rising due to body heat/vapor and breathing to prevent windows and windshield from fogging up. Humid air condenses on cold windows.
Edited to add this from the owners manual for my 2019:
Note: Recirculated air may turn off (or
prevent you from switching on) in all air flow
modes except MAX A/C to reduce the risk
of fogging. Recirculation may also turn on
and off in various air distribution control
combinations during hot weather in order
to improve cooling efficiency
mine does it, i can select recirc and within 5 or so minutes it switches back to fresh,
we live near LOTS of feedlots so keeping the outside OUT is important certain times of the day and or temps
i have found on heat with vents selected to tends to stay in recirc longer, but does eventually change back
Thanks for the information. For the last few weeks I honestly thought I was losing my
freaking mind! I know I didn’t push the button, but now the light is off I kept thinking 😂😂😂
