I have an F150 but it's the same battle. I bought a Ford drop in because I was in a hurry. The corners hide the tie downs, and they give you rubber plugs to seal it up. Well, the plugs are a pita and stuff gets behind the liner from the back and sides in addition to the holes.
I may toss the liner and go Line-X and maybe a bed mat. Depends on how rich I feel later this year.
So go Line-X. You can always add a tailgate panel or bed mat.
I’ve always been fine with a bed mat in my trucks, though I know getting a spray in liner for truck buyers is like mustang guys with loud exhaust, first stop out of the dealership
I have Linex as well as a bed mat. I bought the bed mat first. I think the Linex looks great.
I also have a work truck with Rhino. The Rhino is much thicker and rubbery. The Linex maybe looks nicer after a while. The Rhino turned flat black.
Both offer a nice secure grip if your walking stuff around back there.
If your going to be throwing shovels and bricks in the bed the Rhino might be better protection.
I like the bed mat to actually protect the floor and keep things from sliding around.
My Rhino is in a 2006 GMC. Its been there for 16 years. Everything from concrete to gas has been thrown on it. Shovels tossed from the back into the bed. Logs... whatever. Theres a couple of minor tares. Its gone flat black. A few dents from abuse.
The Linex is 3 years. In my 2019 250. It doesnt work like the other truck. Grocery getter... Furniture. Lumber... Bags of dirt...With bed cover. zero change since new. Still as shiny as new out of the sun. Rubber mat keeps the bed floor protected from whatever.

Swerving suggestion......
Rhino is a little less slick, Linex seems to take scrapes a little better. I went Linex & topped with a rubber mat as well.
I have had both over the years, personally prefer Line-x. As said above, the Rhino was softer, more of a rubbery texture. It was nice with keeping things from sliding around, easier on hands and knees if climbing around, but it was the only one that I have ever had get damaged - if using your truck to haul and shoveling stuff out, it is possible for the shovel to catch it and next thing you know you have a chunk gone.
I have had a truck with Line-x, then next truck i got a "deal" on Rhino so went that way. Every truck since has been Line-x. Well, until current which has the Ford spray, similar to Line-x texture, but only because I couldn't remove it from the package on my build.
I am glad you started this one so I dont have to. My truck does not appear to ever have had a liner in it. It is scratched some but it currently has a partial 5th wheel set up in the back that I will remove and I am trying to figure out what would be the best route. The other challenge I have is that I just put the Bakflip CS on and I feel that I would have to remove this to do a spray in bed liner. I have never had a truck with bed mat but that could be the cheaper options and a good solution. I use my truck primarily for hauling gear for camping, Decoys, Deer and firewood. Keep the opinions coming.
If you decide to add a bed mat to the mix I can highly recommend Westin.
They are inexpensive, made out of recycled materials (tires, or so it seems) so not very pretty. Seriously tough as I found out trying to cut holes for my 5th wheel hitch.
If you want pretty it'll cost you more.
I've had really good luck with Rhino liner holding up on my past 3 trucks, particularly on the tailgate. I use a horse stall mat (3/4" 4'x6') from Tractor Supply in the bed as well, since it's not unusual for me to have tractor attachments (box blade, grapple, etc) in the bed. It might be just the installers, but I like how the Rhino liner extended down to the edge of the tailgate - the Ford liner, which my 2022 has, does not. I will probably get some Herculiner or similar to cover that part.
I haven’t seen a rhino liner ad or place to have it done up here for 5-10 years in Michigan line x has the market up here. The line X does have a nice looking texture that I prefer.

I'll have to check out the Westin mat. I had been leaning towards the Rough Country mat that also appears to use recycled content and is priced at around $110. In my past searches, DeeZee looked to have the cheapest option. Under $100 depending on when and where it's purchased. I do like the Ford option, with "SUPER DUTY" on it, but to me that isn't worth $40-50 more.
Quite a few people go that route. I would consider one but they all seem to be 3/4" thick. For my purposes thicker isn't better, the unnecessary additional weight and thickness is what has kept me away from them.
I'm a little ****, I got the Ford spray in and then bought a weathertech to "protect" the spray in. Why, I dunno, I fiiggered I could always take out the weathertech if I needed to for some reason...
